Drop-In Clients!

Wednesday Drop–In starts from 6:00pm. Please do not arrive at the Centre before this time as it is becoming increasingly difficult for staff to be able to cater for clients that arrive early. Up until 6:000pm, staff will be working with other clients in the building. Doors will open at 6:00pm sharp, Drop–In clients will not be admitted to the building before the correct Drop–In time.

Hepatitis C Information Nights

The Gender Centre Youth Group

The Gender Centre is starting a new youth group for people aged between 16 and 25 years. Each group will consist of 8 participants run for an 8 week period. Please contact the Gender Centre on 9569-2366 with your name, and once the group has reached 8 participants, applications will close and re-open again shortly after the previous group has concluded.

Course Outline

Week One: Gender (Gender Binary, Gender Warriors, Genetics / Chromosomes / Hormones, Biology vs. Nurture)
Week Two: Sexuality with Guest Speaker (Models of Sexuality, Definitions, Sexuality & Gender Interface)
Week Three: Transitioning Games (Hormones, Surgery, Options, Passing)
Week Four: Life Experience with Guest Presenter (Heroes, Heroines, Role Models)
Week Five: Dealing with Others (Family, Friends, Work / School, Others - Positive / Negative Reactions)
Week Six: Decision Making with the Counsellor (Setting Goals, Celebrating Achievements, Revisiting Expectations)
Week Seven: Keeping Healthy with the Counsellor (Mental Health, Emotional Health, HIV / Hep C / Sexual Health)
Week Eight: Closing Group (Unanswered Questions, Resources, Support

For those who have booked a place in the Youth Group, the group will be starting on Monday December 3rd 2007 at 6pm.

Transgender Support Group

This Support Group is aimed at people aged between 20 and 35 years. Don't be shy, come along, share and listen to other people's stories.

First Monday of Every Month 6pm.
