So far this year we've organised a few events with mixed responses.
The Community Forum in late January was a success; many attended and enjoyed the barbecue and the
sunshine. The Movie Day and Picnic at Lake Gillawarna were successful days attended by only a handful of
people. The Health, Nutrition and Fitness Workshop set down for 1 March was cancelled as only three
people booked. This was a real shame as presenter Caroline Layt had put a lot of effort into organising
this event. I'm led to believe that others turned up on the day to find the centre closed, which only
highlights the need for people to
R.S.V.P. for events and leave
their contact details in case an event has to be cancelled.
The Easter Barbecue is on Sunday 13 April, please take note of this date, it's the weekend before
Easter this year.
A make-up workshop has been organised for the first two weeks of June. This workshop will run over
two weeks on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 - 8:30pm.
Two more outing/ activity days have been organised with a trip to Taronga Park Zoo booked for Friday
23 May, and a day at Sydney Aquarium and ride on the Monorail booked for Friday 20 June. I'm currently
organising a very exciting event at the Centre on Friday 2 May, so keep your eyes open at the Centre for
further details.
